Rumors started swirling today after an unconfirmed report surfaced that Ian Book, the starting quarterback for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, was in some academic trouble and would be facing an upcoming suspension.
I was made aware of the issue early in the afternoon, and after talking to multiple sources, I found that Ian Book’s status is unchanged, and he is not under the threat of suspension.

This doesn’t mean that the rumors are completely unfounded, but I don’t believe there will be any major repercussions moving forward.
I can’t really give many details for a variety of reasons, but I think it’s fairly safe to say that Ian Book will play this Saturday against the Pittsburgh Panthers, and for the remainder of the season.
If there is anything more and concrete to report, we will report it as it happens.
UPDATE
