The Notre Dame Fighting Irish continued their push towards the College Football Playoff over the weekend with a 45-23 win over the Virginia Tech Hokies. The victory allowed them to move up slightly in the national rankings, landing them just outside the top four. With plenty of football left, the Irish are in good shape to get there by the end of the season.

There were no changes in the top four with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Clemson Tigers holding steady. Virginia Tech fell out of the top 25 after losing to ND. The Stanford Cardinal also dropped to #24 after a tough loss to the Utah Utes. The Michigan Wolverines moved up to #13 after doubling up on the Maryland Terrapins 42-21.
