There’s four weeks left to go in the 2018 college football regular season, but the Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs are completing their travel obligations this weekend.
The top-ranked Tide have one of the least demanding travel schedules among current Top 25 teams, and have just a 70-minute flight to Baton Rouge left on their regular season itinerary. Those 335 air miles will occur before Saturday’s tilt against the No. 4 LSU Tigers.
As for the sixth-ranked Bulldogs, they’ve got a 65-minute flight from Athens to Lexington that they’ll complete before playing the No. 11 Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday. That’s 291 air miles for a game that will decide the SEC East.
On the flip side, the Utah State Aggies will have the longest road trip of an Associated Press Top 25 team. The 18th-ranked Aggies will fly 3,039 miles to Honolulu for a game against the Hawaii Warriors that kicks off at midnight Eastern Sunday. The time difference between Logan and Honolulu is four hours.
The Aggies play home on Nov. 10 before closing the regular season with trips to play the Colorado State Rams and Boise State Broncos.
Ten of the Top 25 teams are home this weekend. Of those that travel, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have the closest away game. The third-ranked team will play the Northwestern Wildcats, just outside the Top 25, in Evanston, which is 114 miles away from South Bend.
All travel in the below table is expressed in road miles and represents one way travel.
