Traditionally, the Army All-American Bowl has always had more Notre Dame commits and targets than the Under Armour All-American Game (I wonder why). So, it's a fairly normal number for the Irish to have five commits playing in the game. These aren't just any five from the 2018 Irish class though as they ALL have a chance to earn a real role next season.

All five are on the EAST team.

Although we have two players listed as targets in wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown and linebacker Solomon Tuliaupupu, Notre Dame has virtually no shot at either. St. Brown will be heading to play for the USC Trojans and Tuliaupupu isn't coming to a school with no defensive coordinator. Both prospects are on the WEST team.

There are some other names on the roster that Irish fans might be familiar with, but won’t be Irish:

Both McGrone and Ekiyor are blue-chip players from Indiana, so that's always nice.

So... don't expect ANY new commits to come from this game. In fact, as far as defensive recruits are concerned, Notre Dame likely won't get another new commit until the defensive coordinator situation is addressed.

You can expect most of what we have seen from these types of games over the years, and you might get bored a bit. It’s okay... these events are really supposed to be about the game anyways.

After this game, George Takacs will be on his way to Notre Dame to enroll early.
