The Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost a defensive coordinator and their leading wide receiver in one day. Junior wideout, Equanimeous St. Brown is declaring for the NFL Draft.
— Equanimeous (@Equanimeous) January 5, 2018
St. Brown was expected to continue his rise as one of the better wide receivers at Notre Dame over the years, but 2017 had something else in store. The 2017 Irish found their running game, and had a quarterback that was unable to get St. Brown the ball as much as he would like - or as much as the team needed when they needed it.
Equanimeous doesn't project to be a 1st or 2nd day pick, but will take the NFL route with a quarterback battle brewing in South Bend. His father, although a person that has very much allowed his sons to make their own choices, was a strong proponent of EQ leaving a year early.
He's a bright young man, and will no doubt finish his degree at some point.
Good luck to EQ, and goodbye to one of the best names to ever wear a golden helmet.
