Road Warriors
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish Women’s Basketball team continued the similar dominance that we have seen since the close games against Louisville and Tennessee. The Irish (20-2 overall, 8-1 in ACC play) had two road games since our last update on them. The women on the team played very well and really left no doubt this past week.

Last Week’s Games
Last Thursday night, the Number 5 Irish traveled to Pittsburgh to take on the Panthers. In the first half of that one, the team had 13-2 and 18-2 runs to power them to a 44-21 lead at the break. Continuing through the beginning of the fourth quarter, Marina Mabrey drained two straight three point shots to make the lead 73-36, and there was absolutely no turning back. Final score: 87-53. Jessica Shepard had another double-double, the seventh one for her this season.
On Sunday afternoon, the Irish went to Tallahassee to take on the Florida State Seminoles. The Seminoles were ranked 8th in the country going into the game. However, the Irish were again just too much for another ACC opponent. Another strong start in a game saw the team start the game shooting 80% from the field, ending up with a 48-29 lead at halftime. The second half was more of the same story, with the Irish starting the third quarter on an 11-3 run. After the whole game, the team dropped 100 points on the Seminoles, giving the Seminoles their first home loss this year.
