It will be a pretty quiet Under Armour game for Notre Dame’s recruiting efforts - but it’s still extremely important for this class. Notre Dame will have two of its best defensive recruits suit up in Jack Lamb and Houstin Griffith. Both players have already signed their national letter of intent during the early signing period.
The biggest name for Irish fans, is the best player left on Notre Dame’s recruiting board in 5 Star offensive tackle, Nicholas Petit-Frere. The blue-chip prospect won’t be making a decision about what school he will be committing to until National Signing Day on February, 7. Until then, Petit-Frere is enjoying his time as just a high school kid.
Here’s a nice UPDATE on Petit-Frere from USA Today HS Sports. While he seems pretty open at the moment, there are insider reports that the Irish lead at this point.
There are some other names on the roster that Irish fans might be familiar with, but won’t be Irish:
- CB DJ Brown (Virginia Cavaliers)
- CB Kalon Gervin
- WR Tommy Bush
- DE Jayson Oweh
- DT P.J. Mustipher (Penn State Nittany Lions)
You can expect most of what we have seen from these types of games over the years, and you might get bored a bit. It’s okay... these events are really supposed to be about the game anyways.
Keep an eye on Griffith and Lamb as both will be enrolling early at Notre Dame after the game.
