The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are losing a big part of their coaching staff - in fact it's one of the biggest. Offensive Line coach Harry Hiestand is leaving Notre Dame to return to the NFL, and the Chicago Bears.
Reports are just coming in about this move, but it is certainly something that Irish fans have been dreading for year snow.
Hiestand has consistently been hailed as one of the best coaches on the Irish staff, and he is extremely well-liked and loved by the offensive line players that he coaches. With Hiestand at the helm, Notre Dame has had some very good lines, and really great players such as Zack Martin, Ronnie Stanley, Nick Martin, Mike McGlinchey, Quenton Nelson and more.
The Notre Dame offensive line won the Joe Moore Award this year for being the nation's best offensive line unit.
This is a huge loss, and there have been no names (that I have heard) that have been floated around as a possible replacement.
ISD has confirmed through multiple sources OL coach Harry Hiestand is headed to the #NFL. https://t.co/dMqwCIUaiv
