IT IS THURSDAY, MY DUDES
Time for the series recap of the upcoming Notre Dame Fighting Irish opponent: The Georgia Bulldogs.
Anticipation is building not just because of the dominating win from last Saturday. This game is HUGE. It will be such an electric atmosphere.
This game will be only the second game between us and Georgia all-time, and the first one during the regular season. Let’s recap it, shall we?
Series Recap: Just the One Game
We played each other once, in the 1981 Sugar Bowl. The final score was 17-10. We were #7 while Georgia was #1. With their win, Georgia became the 1980 season national champions.

In the game, Georgia’s offense set up 2 short TD runs for Herschel Walker (yes, Herschel Walker). However, Walker saved them because Buck Belue, Georgia quarterback, went 1-12 on passing for the day. The Gerry Faust-led defense seemed successful overall. Everything else just couldn’t really click for the Irish that day.
Time to turn the tables
We don’t have much experience all-time against Georgia, but this game is bringing A LOT of hype.
Georgia is finally coming up north. We’re playing them at home, at night, and with the updated and newly renovated Notre Dame Stadium. We have a strong offense that can seemingly score a lot. It is time for us to make a true statement and get rid of the 2016 bad memories. It is time for us to win against an SEC team at home.
Go Irish. Beat Bulldogs.
