I will be doing a weekly recap highlighting individual performances. I will take the team out of it and look directly at a few players. I will look for players that had a standout game and players that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish need more from in terms of production. With that being said, here we go with our players after their victory against the Temple Owls!
Dexter Williams
He received only 6 (!) carries the whole game. The good thing was that he made the most his opportunity.

Dexter Williams finished the game with 124 yards and a touchdown. He hits the hole with as much power and speed as anyone on the team. I would like to see Dexter Williams get double digit touches next week against Georgia. He is that explosive.
Daelin Hayes
To me, it looks like Daelin Hayes will be Notre Dame’s best pass rusher. He finished the game with 4 tackles and 1 sack. He seemed to be always putting pressure on the passer and causing havoc. Notre Dame finished the game with 3 sacks and I expect Daelin Hayes to be a big contributor to the improved pass rush this season.
Alize Mack
Before I say anything, this guy hasn’t played a game in almost 2 years. Just seeing him back on the field in a Notre Dame uniform was a success. But for Notre Dame to be their best, I would like to see Mack be Notre Dame’s second leading pass catching option behind Equanimeous St. Brown. He looked rusty, which is to be expected. Notre Dame needs Mack to be a big play threat at all times, and he will get there. Hopefully this is the game he needed to knock the rust off and have next week against Georgia be his coming out party.

I thought these three players needed to be highlighted. Two others I thought about were Brandon Wimbush with his first career start and Drue Tranquill starting in the new rover spot. I thought they both need another week in their positions before we can get a grip on their play.
Go Irish, beat the Georgia Bulldogs!
