The Megaphone Trophy means a lot to Brian Kelly and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Kelly talked about the famous rivalry trophy a few times this week, and since his arrival at Notre Dame, he has made a real effort to make sure the trophy was important to his team.
Notre Dame won back the Megaphone Trophy from the Michigan State Spartans Saturday night, by beating their ass 38-18.
Notre Dame doesn't "do" the field thing for rivalry trophies, and celebrates them away from the public eye when they win one, and quietly slip them under the door if they lose one.
Maybe that's a good thing after all if the team and Kelly get THIS hype for that glorious hardware. Kelly looked a little awkward dancing (although he had a really good time doing it) but he looked right at home as he changed colors and went NUTS when the trophy was presented to him.
Red-faced Irish guys love hardware.
