It’s been a fun first quarter if you’re a Notre Dame Fighting Irish fan.
Redshirt sophomore quarterback Brandon Wimbush pieced together a seven-play, 59 yard drive that ended with him breaking loose of defensive pressure and finding the end zone. The Irish now lead the Temple Owls, 14-3, with two minutes left in the first quarter.
Wimbush’s eight-yard scamper was preceded by two appearances by graduate transfer WR Cameron Smith, who took an end around for 12 yards and caught a short out to get the Irish inside the 10.
