Bagpipe Monday: Notre Dame Targets Hatin’ Ass Michigan State

The weekly poll and pipes goes back to choke jobs, applesauce, and Teddy Ruxpin. MAKE PLAYS!

Welcome to Bagpipe Monday on One Foot Down! The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 2-1 and the next up on the schedule are the Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans are fresh off of a bye week and their annual MAC tour.

Look... I hate Michigan State. I HATE them. The only thing that I will ever give that program credit for, is that they gave the Michigan Wolverines the finger (probably 2 of them) and kept Notre Dame on the schedule.

Why is that so important to me if I have all this hate in my heart for Sparty? Because I love the hate. I love the animosity. I love the disdain. Mostly, because I love college football.

For me, the worst part of the ACC deal that Notre Dame made was that the Irish will no longer play Michigan State each year. The USC Trojans are THE rival for Notre Dame, and if I was putting together their schedule for the next 50 years, Southern Cal would be on there each year- no question about it. The second team in this schedule draft would be Sparty.

Not Purdue. Not Michigan. Not Navy. Not Stanford.

BRING ON SPARTY!

Other than USC, who would you schedule every year for the Irish?

There is just a laundry list of great moments, horrible moments, and everything in between in this series. I love it, I hate it, and I want it every year.

Just wanted to throw that out there, and now your weekly pipes (windpipes):
