I think that preseason hype video for college football are an abomination. They’re awful, and they have almost nothing to do with the upcoming season. Seriously, what’s so great about watching a bunch of clips with guys in in that are no longer at Notre Dame (or whatever school)? Even more so, what’s so great about watching clips from a 4-8 season and a quarterback that is in the NFL?
I’m not trying to ruin your day, and I don’t want to anger all of the extremely talented people that make those videos... but it’s awful.
Enter the Band of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Their hype video actually works. It has all the elements you would expect from a Notre Dame hype video:
- Epic music.
- Slow motion shots.
- Homage to our religious background.
- Stats about being ancient.
- Clips of practice- working hard.
- Game clips.
- Excitement.
Now, I have my issues with the band and chiefly with its director, Dr. Kenny Dye, that stems from the inappropriate changes made with the Irish Guard- but this is well done. Perhaps the biggest reason why... I have no idea who any of the band members are, or which ones are returning in 2017.
Cheers!
