A.J. Pollock - OF, Arizona Diamondbacks
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/8794355/663850130.jpg)
Week 13 Stats: N/A
2017 Stats: .299 (BA)/.337 (OBP)/.455 (SLG), 2 HR, 11 RBI, 11 SB, 26 R, 9 BB, 29 K
All reports say that Pollock will rejoin the DBacks this week when they hit the road to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers. Pollock has been out since Mother’s Day, so it will be good to see Pollock get back before the all star break.
Jeff Samardzija - SP, San Francisco Giants
Week 13 Stats: 2 GS, 12.1 IP, 12 H, 4 ER, 0 BB, 10 K, W-L: 2-0
2017 Stats: 4-9, 4.54 ERA, 111.0 IP, 113 H, 56 ER, 13 BB, 122 K, .263 BAA
Samardzija turned in nearly identical starts this past week as he went six innings, two earned, no walks and five Ks against the Colorado Rockies last Monday. On Sunday he was brilliant again, as he went six and a third, surrendering two earned while walking none and striking out five. While his ERA is still in the mid fours, he still might be an interesting trade candidate come the deadline. The Giants are well out of the race, and if a team is willing to take on all or some of Samardzija’s contract, he could be shipped to a contender.
David Phelps - RP, Miami Marlins

Week 13 Stats: 3 G, 3 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
2017 Stats: 2-4, 3.83 ERA, 40.0 IP, 37 H, 17 ER, 16 BB, 43 K, .250 BAA
One bad outing made Phelps’ week going from good to just okay. Phelps blew a save and picked up the loss on Friday night, allowing two earned in one inning of work against the Milwaukee Brewers. His overall numbers are still looking pretty solid.
Trey Mancini - 3B/1B/OF, Baltimore Orioles
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/8794365/800621998.jpg)
Week 13 Stats: 3/22 (.136), 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 R, 0 2b, 3 3b, 2 BB, 9 K
2017 Stats: .303/.353/.545, 14 HR, 43 RBI, 28 R, 12 2b, 1 3b, 15 BB, 69 K
Mancini endured a real tough week, just picking up three hits in 22 tries. Mancini is still having a great rookie season, as his hitting .303 with 14 bombs and 43 RBIs and trying to keep the O’s in the race in the AL.
John Axford - RP, Oakland Athletics
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/8794371/usa_today_10136092.jpg)
Week 13 Stats: 2 G, 2.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, W-L: 0-1
2017 Stats: 0-1, 5.79 ERA, 18.2 IP, 23 H, 12 ER, 10 BB, 18 K, .299 BAA
Since coming off the DL, Axford’s opportunities have been limited, but he hasn’t really helped himself out either. His ERA is approaching six, and with the A’s being a cellar dweller, they may opt to go with a younger option if Axford can’t turn it around.
Dan Slania - RHP, San Francisco Giants
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/8794373/usa_today_10138637.jpg)
Week 13 Stats: 1 G, 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K, W-L: 0-0
2017 Stats: 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1.0 IP, 0 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K, .000 BAA
Slania made his major league debut on Friday night when he finished off the Giants 13-5 win over Pittsburgh. He was immediately optioned back to AA Richmond on Saturday. Slania has had an up and down season at two levels of minor league baseball this season. In three starts in AA, Slania holds an ERA of 1.93 in 18.2 IP. On the flipside, in 12 starts in AAA his ERA is an astronomical 7.82. It will be interesting to see if Slania gets another shot at the big league level.
Craig Counsell - Mgr., Milwaukee Brewers
:no_upscale()/cdn.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_asset/file/8794375/usa_today_10139579.jpg)
Week 13 Stats: 3-3
2017 Stats: 45-40
Counsell’s Brewers somehow still hold first place in the NL Central with just a week left in the first half. They head into the all star break after a three-game series with Baltimore, a make-up game with the Chicago Cubs and a weekend series at Yankee Stadium.
