The Notre Dame Fighting Irish got some great news today when 3-star defensive tackle Ja’Mion Franklin committed to Notre Dame during a press conference at his high school in Maryland.
Franklin held offers from all over the country and chose the Irish over the Virginia Tech Hokies, Wisconsin Badgers, Boston College Eagles, Louisville Cardinals, and many others.
The 6’1”, 315-pound bull-rusher had been a a very heavy lean to the Irish for some time now, and most insiders have had him penciled in for weeks.
Franklin is the 12th commitment of the 2018 class. Notre Dame’s class currently sits at number 6 overall according to 247 Sports.
The 2018 class is really filling up, and our scholarship chart shows that Notre Dame is already way over the 85-man limit (if everyone returns).
Here is what the scholarship chart looks like for the defensive linemen:
We will have more on Franklin, the 2018 class, and Notre Dame’s efforts soon. Until then, Welcome to Notre Dame Franklin!
