It’s Father’s Day! So to all the dads out there, happy birthday!
God willing, former Notre Dame Fighting Irish wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr. will welcome his first child around Christmas.
Hunter, who is playing baseball for the Orem Owlz of the Pioneer (Rookie) League, married high school sweetheart Selina Bell last Oct. 22. Bell is a professional model attached to the Wilhelmina Modeling Agency.
On Friday, the pair announced the pregnancy on social media:
Definitely the highlight of my year and daddy can't wait for you to be here! #3monthsdown6togo #ImImpatient pic.twitter.com/2IWiyVy45k

The sex of the baby was not announced. But if they’re just three months into this process, it’s possible they don’t know either.
Hunter just celebrated his 22nd birthday on June 7. He had a taste of major league life in March, when he replaced Angels superstar Mike Trout as a pinch runner in an exhibition game. He stayed in the game, striking out twice in two at bats and losing a fly ball in the sun.
“He needs to go down (to the minors) and just play,” Manager Mike Scioscia told the Orange County Register. “He’s a young, raw kid, but he’s got tremendous tools.”
Baseball America reported that Hunter will most likely be assigned to the Orem Owlz, a rookie-level ballclub affiliated with the Angels. (Update: It’s happened.) The Owlz play in Orem, Utah, and start their 75-game season Monday.
