The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in search of greatness. That’s what every recruiting class is all about, and although the Irish have missed here and there, they are still trying to work some magic.
There was magic in the air at the Irish Invasion camp at Notre Dame this past Saturday. 3 Star safety Paul Moala from nearby Penn High School in Mishiwaka, Indiana, came to the event without a scholarship offer to Notre Dame, and put on a bit of a show that included running a 4.4 40 yard dash.
That magic created an offer from Notre Dame to Moala.
Going into the Irish Invasion camp, I was skeptical that Notre Dame would offer Moala. The Irish just got a safety transfer from the Navy Midshipmen in Alohi Gilman, and I thought that perhaps they would hold off on offering Moala until they had a clearer picture of what their safety recruiting would like like in this cycle (like maybe December).
Notre Dame’s eyes were opened and very clear after watching Moala’s performance on Saturday.
The surprise of Irish Invasion? Local safety Paul Moala, who got offered. He talked to Irish Illustrated. https://t.co/YFnwWPXddP pic.twitter.com/LwtvundVjp

Also... it can’t be overstated enough just how strong his hair game is right now.
Moala’s other top offers include the Hawaii Rainbows and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Although a commitment didn’t happen on the spot, this is one recruit that I think we can certainly mark down as a sure thing.
