Bagpipe Monday: Thank Memorial Day For Notre Dame Football

Welcome to Bagpipe Monday on One Foot Down! Friends, we all love the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and for many of us- we have took it to an unhealthy level.

College football, and Notre Dame football for 99% of you reading this, is a huge part of our lives. Almost every single day of the year; we talk about it, read about it, make videos about it, podcast about it, create awesome memes about it, make photoshop images about it, and whatever else that causes us to live in our alternate reality.

It’s pretty sweet.

Here’s the thing... all of that crazy comes with a price. It takes a whole lot of freedom for something as wonderful, diverse, and regionally driven as college football to exist and thrive.

That freedom, as well as an incredible amount of others, is protected by all of the brave men and women that have served and continue to serve in our country’s armed forces. Memorial Day is a day that we can celebrate those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. A sacrifice for the country to continue its pursuit of happiness- whatever that happiness might be.
