The Notre Dame Fighting Irish had a really good night as they closed out their home schedule against the Boston College Eagles. The Irish won the game 82-66 over BC, and in doing so, they put themselves in great position for a double-bye in the ACC Tournament- and even for an ACC regular season championship.
That’s all fine and dandy, but it was the final few minutes when Notre Dame senior, Pat Mazza, got in the game. Notre Dame students, fans, and alumni are quite proud of the walk-ons for the football and basketball programs, and the crowd got extremely excited as Mazza entered the game.
It was a bit tense, and filled with a few mistakes, but in his short time on the court, Mazza recorded a rebound, blocked a shot that set the stadium on fire, and a dunk that melted our hearts with pride.
Love thee Notre Dame
This Notre Dame walk-on's Senior Night had the perfect ending!Notre Dame senior, Pat Mazza, walked on for football *and* basketball. On Senior Night, his moment to shine finally arrived.
