Andrew Carter of Raleigh’s The News and Observer reported on Friday that Notre Dame’s matchup with North Carolina may be in doubt due to a water shortage in Chapel Hill. The shortage has forced UNC to cancel Friday classes. It also forced the cancellation of head coach Roy Williams’ afternoon press conference.
According to The News and Observer report, Steve Kirschner, a UNC basketball team spokesman, said it is too early to tell if the game would go on as scheduled or if it would need to be postponed.
North Carolina has already had to postpone one home game these season — its January 7th matchup with NC State. Although, that game was postponed due to a snowstorm. They rescheduled and played the game the next day.
