The Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program has a long and storied history when it comes to college football awards / trophies. We all know about the Heisman, Walter camp, Butkus, and many others. The Irish can boast a laundry list of winners of these awards.
Now, Notre Dame is making a strong push for Montgomery VanGorder to win the most prestigious award a holder can win... the Mortell Award.
