The Notre Dame Fighting Irish really went hard after linebackers in this cycle, and they signed one of the best in the country with Jack Lamb. To be honest, I don't think fans thought that Notre Dame was going to be able to land this blue-chip defensive prospect- nor do I think they have appreciated what a tremendous get that he is for Notre Dame.
Lamb is an extremely athletic and lengthy linebacker that moves really well in space. In Mike Elko's system, he could play either the BUCK or the WILL with no problem. He's aggressive like you would want in a defender, and he is fundamentally sound.
Jack had a season ending injury early in his senior year, but as an early enrollee, he should get some of the best treatment available to get him back to 100% for the fall. As with any blue-chip recruit - there may be a time h1s name gets called during his freshman season.
Lamb chose the Irish over schools like the Penn State Nittany Lions, Oregon Ducks, UCLA Bruins, and the Washington Huskies. Although a California kid, his family has east coast (PSU) roots in Pennsylvania.
