In the bag full of “must get” recruits that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish HAD to sign in this class, Shayne Simon sat and waited. The St. Peter’s Prep standout from New Jersey had already saw alum Brandon Wimbush head to Notre Dame and become the presumed starter at quarterback, and he already saw fellow teammates and friends Justin and Jayson Ademilola give their verbal commitment to Notre Dame. Now it was his turn...
With that... he swept the hearts of Irish fans everywhere.
Don’t let that soften the moment though, because you should be slam-dancing your friends with the arrival of Simon’s signature.
Shayne Simon is the absolute perfect fit at ROVER in Mike Elko’s system. If you’re looking for the heir apparent to Drue Tranquill, Simon is our most likely candidate. I’m not sure if many people are excited enough for Simon, but think about if Tranquill left after this year... yep, you’re excited now.
Welcome to the family, @SimonShayne.

The Irish Invasion MVP from NJ will excel in Coach Elko's system.

Simon chose the Irish over another big list of schools such as the Michigan Wolverines, UCLA Bruins, Stanford Cardinal, and Ohio State Buckeyes.
