The Notre Dame Fighting Irish just signed a big body and a big attitude with defensive tackle Ja’Mion Franklin. Franklin is rated as a three star on the 247 composite, but every time he has been put up against some of the best in the country, he has more than held his own. This was extremely evident out in Oregon for The Opening where he got high marks.
Something else that was really noticeable at The Opening was Franklin’s attitude. The dude plays hard, and he plays mean - not dirty, but certainly with an edge. It’s definitely something that is never in enough supply in South Bend, and always needed along the defensive line.
College coaches look all over the country for guys like @Jamion_Franklin .

After the nice rookie season from freshman Myron Tagovailoa-Amosa, I wouldn’t put it passed Franklin (or any of the freshman defensive linemen) to get some playing time as a freshman. However... a year as a redshirt could do wonders for the Maryland native.
Franklin chose the Irish over a host of ACC schools including the Boston College Eagles, Virginia Tech Hokies, and Loiusville Cardinals. He was one of this class’s most vocal recruiters, and is already bleeding blue and gold.
