Happy Thanksgiving From One Foot Down

Hey y'all! Everyone here at One Foot Down would like to wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. It's been a wild year for fans of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but as always, there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for.

I asked some of the OFD staff to share their thoughts:

Jessica Smetana:

This Thanksgiving I am thankful for:

- Maui Brey

- The video board

- weaseling my way into 3 ND home games and 1 away game despite living in NYC

- Bonzie

- Muffet

- The Stadium Series at Notre Dame next January

and last but not least a 9-2 record :D

I’m thankful for Notre Dame athletics bringing my family together and giving us something to rally around. It’s my favorite family tradition. Go Irish!

I'm thankful for all the listeners and commenters of the podcast. It never gets old having someone say they enjoy it.

Regardless of the outcome of the season, my anticipation for the following season is always there. Even if sometimes I feel like a crazy ex who won't let go. Go Irish!

I'm thankful for ND because it brings my family together. Going to games and tailgates gives me the opportunity to see a lot of people I wouldn't see otherwise. I'm thankful for all the football, basketball, hockey and baseball games I've been able to attend with my old man over the years. Notre Dame is a big part of my family and I'm truly thankful. Go Irish!

Pat Sullivan

I'm incredibly thankful for Mike Brey and the most fun, likable basketball team in the country that I get to cover over the next 3-4 months -- ND fans do NOT realize how good we have it on the basketball side of things. Additionally, I'm quite grateful for a football team that, even if just for a 6-week span in the middle of the season, gave us something fun and awesome to cheer for after the terror of last season.

As your Emperor, Supreme Warlord, and Defender of the Faith, I am thankful that we are able to enjoy and celebrate being fans of Notre Dame athletics. I am extremely thankful for all of the loyal readers of One Foot Down, and the entire community as a whole. Toby Ziegler summed it up best:

We're a group. We're a team. We win together, we lose together. We celebrate and we mourn together. And defeats are softened and victories sweeter because we did them together... You're my guys and I'm yours.
