Notre Dame Fighting Irish: Stanford Cardinal Week

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have one game left in the 2017 regular season, and it’s a trip to the ridiculously crappy field in Palo Alto against the Stanford Cardinal.

IT’S THE BATTLE FOR THE LEGENDS TROPHY!

Yes, it’s a real thing that exists despite the super secret nature of the hardware (a common theme for Irish trophies).

Notre Dame hasn’t won at Stanford since the infamous 2007 season. That’s a DECADE for people as wound as tight as I am right now. You can put all the games in the Brian Kelly era aside, and place this matchup in the group called “ONE OF THE BIGGEST IN HIS CAREER.”

It’s definitely true. A win on Saturday not only casts away the demons of Palo Alto, it puts Notre Dame in a position to win a major bowl game - something they have not done since the 1993 season / 1994 Cotton Bowl (it’s a stat you will hear over and over again).
