Notre Dame Football: One Thought for Stanford: Winning in Palo Alto Edition

Turns out heading to Palo Alto at the end of the year has proved very challenging as of late for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. It has officially been over 10 years since the Irish lasted posted a win at Stanford. The year was 2007....but honestly in my brain that season has been erased completely....So our last win was in 2005, a close 38-31 victory led by the man child himself Brady Quinn.

With all of that said, the Irish have been less than impressive not only vs. the Stanford Cardinal, but just as a team in general throughout November. Which begs the question....Which Notre Dame football team will show up on Saturday? Is it the dominant October team which left us all feeling relaxed and confident....or the November squad which has left the familiar anxious feeling in fan’s chests throughout the entire game? As this blog has alluded to thus far....this is a big game. It will prove what type of identity this new coaching staff and team has. Can they roll into California and win on a National stage to compete for a New Years 6 Bowl game? If Notre Dame limps its way through this game, I will not feel confident that things have turned around. If they come out and win in definitive fashion, then the Kelly era has truly turned over a new leaf. I hope in my dear heart that we get the October team back...honestly....I just miss those guys. They were a dominating, fun team to watch. They are in there somewhere, and let’s just hope they show up this Saturday. Would love to get the fan’s take on what team shows up Saturday and Why!
