The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are 2 point favorites over the Stanford Cardinal, according to domestic and overseas bookmakers. If it holds, the Irish will have been favored in all 12 of its games — one season removed from finishing 4-8.

The current over/under for the game is 57 points. The OddsShark handicapping pick engine foresees a 34-26 Irish victory, which means Notre Dame will win, cover the spread and the total will go over.

If you considering wagering on this game — or gambling hard-earned spacebucks, as Tex may say — here are some trends to consider. (All are courtesy of OddsShark.)

  • Notre Dame has lost its last four games in Palo Alto, but is 8-2 against the spread in the last 10 road games at Stanford.
  • The Irish are 9-2 overall, but 7-4 against the spread this year. The total has gone under in 4 of Notre Dame’s last six games.
  • Stanford is 1-3 against the spread since its bye week and the total has gone under in six of the Cardinal’s last seven games.

The Cardinal are just one of three underdogs this week among the 12 opponents on this year’s Irish special. Another — the North Carolina Tar Heels — are playing one of the eight favorites — the in-state rival N.C. State Wolfpack.

HEISMAN ODDS

Bovada has removed its Heisman odds, believing that Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield is “too big of a favorite.”

POINTS!

Arizona Wildcats (7-4) at Arizona State Sun Devils (6-5)
4 p.m. Saturday, Pac-12 Network
Spread: Arizona -2
Over/under: 74 points

The Duel in the Desert is our “defense optional” game of the week, with oddsmakers predicting a 41-31 type game. Arizona has gone over in seven of its ten games — and hit the line exactly in another. Can Khalil Tate rebound from a disastrous performance against the Oregon Ducks? If you’re one of the 14 million homes that gets the Pac-12 Network, this is the game to watch this week. (If you’re not, might I suggest Missouri at Arkansas, 2:30 p.m. on CBS? Or Louisville at Kentucky at noon on the SEC Network?)
