“The inside-outside game of BONZIE and Matty F is just too much for a team like Chaminade to handle. The Irish win by 20-25 behind a balanced scoring attack featuring those two, sophomore guard TJ Gibbs, and freshman wing DJ Harvey. Additionally, Martinas "The Bird Whisperer" Geben will have at least one rim-rattling slam dunk in this one. Finally, Chaminade's nickname is the Silverswords and that is an awesome name -- with that alone they may stand a chance of keeping this one closer than Irish fans would like. But this is probably a blowout.”

Chaminade - while decent in the Pacific West Conference - is by no means a threat to Notre Dame. The 'Swords will play hard and with something to prove, but this Notre Dame team is too well coached and has too much talent to get beaten by a lesser team like this. Bonzie, Matt Farrell, and TJ Gibbs will prove to be too much for an overmatched Chaminade team en route to a relatively easy victory for the Irish.

The host school of the Maui Invitational, Chaminade is usually pretty competitive in the Pacific West Conference. This tournament is its one chance every year to play against teams from the power five, and they routinely get smoked. Their last win in the Invitational came against Texas in 2012. Notre Dame is too balanced with experienced seniors in Colson, Farrell and Geben, and rising stars in Gibbs and Harvey. I see the Irish running away with this one.
