The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are currently favored to beat the Navy Midshipmen at home on Saturday by 17.5 points, according to domestic and overseas bookmakers.

The Middies are 6-3, with all three losses coming to American Athletic Conference foes (The #18 Memphis Tigers, #14 UCF Knights and Temple Owls). The over/under for this game is 62 points.

OddsShark’s computers believe that Notre Dame will win 42-27, which would result in a cover for Navy and a payout for all over bets (since the combined score would exceed 62 points).

Here are some facts to consider before betting on this game, courtesy of OddsShark:

  • Navy is 17-8 in its last 25 games and 4-2 in its last six road games.
  • Navy is 5-1 against the spread in its last six road games and 7-2 ATS in its last nine road games against Notre Dame.
  • The total has gone over in six of the past seven games between the Irish and the Midshipmen, and the same six-of-seven if you look only at games where the Irish hosted the Middies.

Here are the betting lines for all of Notre Dame’s 2017 opponents. The Georgia Bulldogs, Boston College Eagles, Michigan State Spartans, USC Trojans and Miami-Florida Hurricanes are all major favorites this week.

Junior running back Josh Adams slipped from an 8-to-1 favorite to a 50-to-1 favorite following his 16-carry, 40-yard, zero touchdown performance against the Miami-Florida Hurricanes.

Redshirt sophomore quarterback Brandon Wimbush went from a 100-to-1 favorite to a 300-to-1 favorite after his 10-for-21, 119 yard, 1 touchdown, 2 interception evening.

At this point, it’s a honor for Adams to even be invited to New York City for the inevitable presentation to Baker Mayfield, the Oklahoma Sooners quarterback.

CHAMPIONSHIP ODDS

Notre Dame slipped from 7-to-1 favorites to win the College Football Championship to 200-to-1 following its 41-8 loss to Miami. The Hurricanes improved from 15-to-1 to 8-to-1 favorites.

POINTS!

SMU Mustangs (6-4) at #18 Memphis Tigers (8-1)
Noon, Saturday, ESPN News
Over/under: 75.5 points; Spread: Tigers -11.5

The Tigers, winners of five in a row, are hosting the Ponies in an AAC West showdown. Since their loss to #14 UCF Golden Knights, the Tigers are averaging 47.8 points of offense per game and surrendering 27.2 points. That’s 75 points right there.

The Mustangs just lost a closely-fought game with the Midshipmen, and are averaging 39.6 points of offense this year while giving up 32.2 points.

OddsShark says Memphis will prevail, 45-34, which means the Ponies cover but the over also pays.
