After a week of speculation about who would start at quarterback for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish after Brandon Wimbush suffered a foot injury during the win over the Miami-Ohio Redhawks, reports are coming out that Ian Book will be the starter against the North Carolina Tar Heels.

It appears that Wimbush will still be available if it's needed, but there will be a new chapter added to the season for the Irish.
I hope Ian Book is ready to make the right READS today.#warmingUp

Notre Dame will most likely continue to rely on its running game as it has the nations's #7 ranked rushing attack. That too is dealing with a bit of an injury situation with Josh Adams and Dexter Williams both dealing with ankles. That's why the Irish will bring along freshman C.J. Holmes. You should look for Holmes to get some meaningful carries today as well.
A reminder: Notre Dame is 17-0 under Brian Kelly against unranked teams when Irish start a freshman or red-shirt freshman quarterback.

The game will be on ABC today at 3:30. Notre Dame will be looking to go 18-2 all-time against the Tar Heels, and finish off the first half of their schedule with a 5-1 record.
