The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are looking to get their third true road victory in a row when they take on the North Carolina Tar Heels today in Chapel Hill. The Irish haven't won three true road games in a row since 2012. Even in 2015, everyone's 2nd favorite season of "success" in the Brian Kelly era, the Irish couldn't manage a little roll of victories. In that year (2015) the 3 road games that they won were Temple, Pittsburgh, and Virginia.
It's tough to won on the road, but a little tougher when injuries start to nip at your depth.
There is a good chance that Ian Book will start at quarterback for Notre Dame after Brandon Wimbush suffered some type of foot injury during the win over the Miami-Ohio Redhawks. An even better chance is that 5th string (technically) running back, C.J. Holmes will get some time at running back today with Josh Adams, Dexter Williams, and Tony Jones Jr. all battling an injury or two.
Tough, but the Heels have their own injury issues in which that would gladly trade Notre Dame for their troubles. Notre Dame is a two touchdown favorite ON THE ROAD, so if they really want to get over the hump of 2016 and be looked at as one of the best teams in the country, they have to absolutely do what is expected here.
The game thread is open below. I know many of us are on Twitter for most of the game, but I encourage you to vent and do other things that require more than 140 characters here.
