1. Josh Adams is a Full-Fledged Heisman Candidate

I know I’m stating the obvious here, but I think some people were wondering how Adams would follow up his USC performance and secondly how’d he perform against a top flight rush defense. He passed both tests in flying colors, as he rushed the ball 27 times for 202 yards and a touchdown. Adams chances for the Heisman have shot up all the way to 10/1 according to Vegas, and with the remaining teams left on the schedule he should have a very good chance to at least be in New York for the ceremony. Out of the remaining four opponents, Navy ranks the highest in rush defense at 76th.
2. No Flat Starts

Knock on wood, but the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have yet to just come out flat in any game this season. They had a chance to come out flat on Saturday against the Wolfpack after the big win over rival USC and after the N.C. State Wolfpack blocked a punt and recovered it for a touchdown, but the Irish didn’t let things spiral out of control. There is a whole different mentality with this team and I think it starts with the leadership at the top and the changes that were made in the offseason.
3. Julian Love is a Beast

Love had a heckuva game on Saturday. He had three pass breakups and a pick-six to start the second half scoring. Love has been arguably Notre Dame’s best corner all season. He’s fourth nationally in in passes defended. It’s been a while since we’ve seen a corner like Love. I can’t remember too many that we’re as disruptive as Love is now. Love and Nick Watkins have paired to be a great duo at corner this season. It’s nice to finally see Notre Dame have competent and effective play from their DBs.
