Notre Dame Football: Brandon Wimbush Is "Day To Day" With Foot Soreness

Doesn't sound like a bar fight injured the Notre Dame quarterback.

Brian Kelly got on the podium for his weekly press conference for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program. Kelly gave his normal short preview of the next opponent, and for this week it's the North Carolina Tar Heels.

The biggest question looming over this press conference was the health of starting quarterback, Brandon Wimbush.

Kelly stated that as of right now, Wimbush is day to day with foot soreness, and at 4:00 they will know more about the injury. According to Kelly, the injury happened sometime during the game Saturday against the Miami-Ohio Redhawks, but Wimbush didn't really start feeling it until Saturday night. He reported the issue at the mandatory check-in at noon on Sunday. The MRI and X-Ray came back clean.

Kelly didn't exactly rule out the possibility of Ian Book starting against the Tar Heels. However, that would take Wimbush missing both today's practice and Wednesday's practice.

You can watch the entire press conference in the video below. Notre Dame will play North Carolina at 3:30 on ABC on Saturday.
