Hello, Fighting Irish faithful! I’m Ryan Kelley, and I'm here to announce that I’m taking my talents to South Bend. Not literally, because I live in New York City where I’m a full-time student at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism. But from here on out, I’ll be writing about Notre Dame basketball for One Foot Down, and I couldn’t be more excited.
My Notre Dame fandom can be traced back to my Irish roots. You would think my grandmother bled green if you ever had the pleasure of meeting her, so fond of the phrase “Erin go Bragh” that she named her only daughter Erin. My grandfather briefly enrolled at the school before transferring to Cornell. It’s safe to say I’ve been donning the green and gold for my entire life. My all-time favorite golden domers are Golden Tate and Jaylon Smith, but Josh Adams is quickly joining that conversation.
I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism from SUNY Oswego, and I’ll have a master’s degree in December. It’s my dream to be a full time sports writer, and my goal with One Foot Down is to engage with fellow Irish fanatics and continue honing my skills. I hope to use my journalism training to add a lot of great content to this already fun and informative site.

Sláinte!
