Welcome to Bagpipe Monday on One Foot Down! The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are America's little darling right now after their impressive 49-14 victory over the USC Trojans. People that are self-provlaimed "haters" of the Irish are coming out in droves to say...
This football team is pretty damn good.
No one will swing their allegiance of hate, and why would we want or expect that? However, Notre Dame is getting a level of respect they have not seen in a long time, and it is well deserved.
You know, the problem with Bagpipe Monday is that I am never sure what direction to take. Do I use the last game as reference, or do I push forward? This week was amazingly simple because of what happened, and the question...
DOES NOTRE DAME FOOTBALL EXCITE YOU?
Your ND football excitement level:
This poll is closed
BLUE (I'm steady and happy)
GREEN (I'm so excited I'm convinced this is a dream)
GOLD (Worlds are melting from my enjoyment)
I'm none of these colors - WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?
It doesn't have to be on this level of excitement:
Wimbush just dropped the shoulder and got me pregnant. It was that good.— One Foot Down (@OneFootDown) October 22, 2017
But I think close to it anyways.
Notre Dame has won by 20 or more points in their 6 wins, and they are doing it by running the football, and playing sound defense. Something about that seems boring - but it has been anything BUT that this season.
It's been impressive.
I'm not sure what to expect next, because I don't think Notre Dame football has been on this level for a really, really long time - and that includes the 2012 team. So much of what made this program great over the last century and a quarter is what we are seeing on the field each Saturday.
They're tough, classy, dynamic, and play the game for one another.
How can you not like that? How can you not LOVE that? How are you still able to sit in one spot for more than a minute because of that?
I'm just curious to see if y'all are on my level of BOOMING so please hit that poll up above.
Here are your weekly pipes:
