That’s the great start that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish offense needed. Capping off an eight-play, 75-yard drive, DeShone Kizer scored on an eight yard rush off of an option play. That score marks his fifth rushing touchdown of the year. Here’s the play:

As Notre Dame fans, we’re no strangers to the great things DeShone Kizer can do on the field. After a high-scoring affair in Texas, a blowout over Nevada, and the comeback against Michigan State last week, the Irish quarterback is now responsible for 14 of Notre Dame’s 16 touchdowns so far this year. Simply put, he’s carrying the offense squarely on his shoulders. It’s an impressive feat for the junior quarterback, but makes you wonder what would be possible if the Notre Dame defense could manage a stop or two against a good team.
After a three-and-out for much maligned defense, Kizer and company are back on the field. We’ll see what they can do with their second drive.
