Although the Notre Dame Fighting Irish took a huge hit on Saturday night after falling to the Michigan State Spartans, they have already made a huge hit out of the massive recruiting weekend that the football program hosted.
Want to thank everyone that helped with the decision.. but here it is pic.twitter.com/yR3VYkEzM8

Four star defensive end, Donovan Jeter, from Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania is the newest commitment for the incoming class of 2017.
Notre Dame is in desperate need of pass rushers, and even though Jeter is more of a strong side defensive end, he still has the ability to push upfield and create a pass rush both inside and coming off of the edge. A possible pairing of Jeter and current Notre Dame freshman Daelin Hayes could be EXACTLY what Brian Kelly is looking for and in need of along the defensive front.
Donovan Jeter has a tremendous frame at 6-5, 250 pounds and he uses that frame to collapse on defenders in high school. At the next level, it’s his ability to use his violent hands and really nice rip move that will help shed those blocks and allow him to zero in on the ball carrier- as well as the quarterback. He looks much more athletic than what is on the Notre Dame roster at SDE right now.
Notre Dame has really hit western Pennsylvania hard this recruiting cycle, and has had some real gems commit to the Fighting Irish. The WPIAL kids are:
- 4 Star LB David Adams
- 4 Star OT Joshua Lugg
- 4 Star OG Robert Hainsey
- 3 Star DT Kurt Hinish
- 4 Star DE Donovan Jeter
That’s a lot of beef coming from the Keystone State.
While this commitment was sold as a possibility going into last weekend by a handful of recruiting gurus, the loss at home has a way of making people believe that Notre Dame did a bad job with its recruits.
That, it seems, has turned out to be joyfully incorrect.
