Ever since quarter one turned to quarter two in South Bend tonight, things have been pretty bleak. However, Equanimeous St. Brown made a great catch late in third quarter, and the Notre Dame offense showed some life.
My favorite part of this play is the obvious defensive pass interference that went uncalled. To make this play even better, it was called incomplete and then was overturned by the booth.
Either way, the Irish offense has a pulse, and more importantly, they’ve given the defense a bit of a breather. The Irish are in a huge hole, down 36-14, in a game that they were in control of early. It will be an up-hill battle with a worn-down defense taking the field against a Michigan State offense that is absolutely rolling.
This game represents yet another test of the mettle of Brian Kelly’s football team. At some point, you have to think the Irish will turn the corner and just won’t need comebacks to win close games anymore.
