Kizer caps off a 91 yard drive with a touchdown run

Notre Dame overcame a third down and a penalty to score first versus Michigan State.

Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer just capped off a really impressive drive for the Irish with a rushing touchdown on a QB draw. Take a look:

Coming into this game, the Michigan State defense was billed as the strong suit for Mark Dantonio’s team. Notre Dame’s offense, which has been impressive in their own right, appear to be up to the challenge.

The Irish converted on third down, overcame a costly penalty, and made some big plays to get on the board first. Notre Dame’s Tarean Folston took an option pitch and made it into the endzone on the play play prior to Kizer’s touchdown, but Tight End Durham Smythe was called for a block in the back. The initial touchdown was called back, but it ended up not mattering, as Kizer scored his third rushing touchdown on the year.

Also of note, Notre Dame running back Josh Adams has eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing. Pretty impressive for a true sophomore.
