There’s a quarterback battle going on up in South Bend this off-season, in case you haven’t heard. This has led people to be either #TeamKizer or #TeamZaire. Brian Kelly wouldn’t give us much news as to who he was leaning towards. Early in the off-season, Kelly said that he’d like for one guy to be The Guy to help shape the identity of the team. He’s later backed off of that, saying that he hasn’t ruled out playing both QB’s.
Looks like we’ll get just that:
NEWS: Both DeShone Kizer and Malik Zaire will play quarterback at Texas, #NotreDame coach Brian Kelly just said.

Well, there you have it. Well, sort of. Is this much of a surprise? No, not really. As much as I want either Kizer or Zaire to be named as the permanent starter, this was pretty much a foregone conclusion that Kelly would give both guys playing time.
Personally, after watching Ohio State juggle splitting time between Cardale Jones and J.T. Barrett, I’d feel a lot more comfortable with it being one or the other.
I guess we’ll see.
