The first-round match ups for the Legends Classic were announced today. On November 21st at 7:00 pm on ESPN2, the Irish will face Colorado at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. It will be the first meeting of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Colorado Buffalos in the history of the two programs.
In his six seasons as head coach of Colorado, Tad Boyle has lead the Buffaloes to 20+ wins five times, as well as four NCAA Tournament berths. The Buffs also won the Pac 12 tournament in the 2011-2012 season under Boyle. The Buffs are looking to build their 2015-16 season, in which they finished 22-14, earned a five-seed in the NCAA tournament and lost in the first round.
The Irish split their last two trips to the Barclay Center, losing to St. Joseph's in overtime before besting BYU in the 2012 Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, another early season tournament. The Irish will also face Bryant on November 12th and Seattle on Nov. 16th at the Purcell Pavilion as part of the Legends Classic.
