In Play

Najee Harris, who is kinda sorta committed to Alabama, visited Ohio State for their spring game and will visit Auburn in the coming weeks. My gut says he'll still end up at Alabama, but it'll be an interesting ride with this kid. There has been some smoke lately that UCLA is gaining momentum with the uber-talented Californian.

Cam Akers released a top ten that did not include the Irish, but all hope is not quite lost yet. He tweeted an image of the group that included Alabama, Auburn, Cal (?), FSU, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Ole Miss, and Tennessee. He also gave it the following caption: "As of now [emphasis mine], these are the teams that I will be taking a closer look at over the next few months."  Gotta love it.

Stephen Carr is still a soft commit to USC and is still taking visits, most recently to Michigan and Miami with other visits still on tap. He hasn't talked much about Notre Dame since some kind words after softening his Trojan commitment a few months ago, but I'm not ready to close the door just yet. Stay tuned.

Anthony McFarland has visited Maryland a couple of times recently, and the Terps seem to be gaining traction with the in-state prospect.

Things are slow with Toneil Carter, but the expected end game hasn't changed. He's most likely to stay in the South when all is said and done. Georgia in particular is gaining confidence.

Ty Chandler is the recipient of a few new crystal balls at 247, all pointing to Tennessee. Not too much of a surprise in that the Irish have been on the outside looking in for  along time now.The one catch is that he has yet to visit Notre Dame, and of course he could fall in love at first sight and shake everything off about the other schools.

Colin Wilson keeps things close to the vest as well as just about anyone else does, but we do have some hints. He's targeting an announcement of sometime this summer.

Devan Barrett is  similar to Colin Wilson in that it's hard to nail down what the status of his recruitment is right now. However, we do know that he wants to visit Notre Dame over the summer and hasn't been able to Dset up a trip. adrtoooo
