2016 NFL Draft: Notre Dame Defensive Tackle Sheldon Day Selected 104th Overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars

This son has made his momma very proud.

Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Sheldon Day fulfilled a NFL dream today after being selected by the Jaguars with the 5th pick of the 4th Round.

He came to Notre Dame from Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana as the No. 11 defensive tackle and No. 111 overall recruit in the country. Day burst onto the scene as a true freshman during Notre Dame's 2012 undefeated regular season and then spent his sophomore and junior seasons playing well but fighting injuries. As a senior he blossomed into a great leader and one of the nation's best tackle finishing with 45 tackles, 15.5 TFL, and 4 sacks.

Congratulations to Sheldon and his family!
