Men's lacrosse (2), women's lacrosse (5), women's basketball (2), women's fencing (1), and men's fencing (2) are all nationally ranked in the top 5 of their sports right now. Hockey checks in at no. 13, rowing at 17, softball at 19, and women's golf at 20. Not bad, Irish.
Without further ado, we give you the results of the last week's Irish match-ups and look ahead at what's on the schedule this week.

No. 2 men's lacrosse (5-1) earned fought through another overtime thriller on Saturday, this time besting Virginia, 8-7, on the road. Sergio Perkovic had both the tying goal in the last minute of regulation and the game winner in OT. Check out our game recap here.
Notre Dame next plays Ohio State in Columbus, OH, on Saturday afternoon.

No. 5 women's lacrosse (9-1, 3-1) earned their own win over Virginia on Friday, claiming a dominant 16-4 victory. The team had 20 caused turnovers. Both Rachel Sexton and Cortney Fortunato had 4 goals for the Irish.
Next up for the team is a visit from Syracuse on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ET (ESPN3). Next Monday, they play Marquette on the road.

No. 19 softball (22-3, 3-0) earned an overpowering 10-0 win in their home opener over Bowling Green last Thursday in five innings. That was it for the team this past week.
The Irish host Eastern Michigan this Tuesday, then Michigan State on Wednesday. Friday, they travel east to play Syracuse in a double-header; the teams meet again on Saturday.

Baseball (8-10, 1-5) went 2-2 this past week, taking a home win over Toledo, 10-3, before going 2-1 against NC State on the road: the Irish lost the series opener, 9-1, won the second game, 8-4 (in 12 innings), then lost the closer, 16-6.

The Irish host UIC this Tuesday (6:05 p.m. ET, WatchND). Thursday, they travel to Blacksburg, VA, to face Virginia Tech (5:30 p.m. ET, ESPN3). The teams meet again on Friday (5:30 p.m. ET, ESPN3) and Saturday (12:00 p.m. ET, ESPN3).

Men's tennis (10-8, 4-2) earned a pair of conference wins over Duke, 5-2, and Miami, 5-2, this past week. This Friday, they travel to Charlottesville, VA, to play Virginia. Sunday, they play Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA.
No. 38 women's tennis (9-6, 3-3) lost a close one to no. 29 Wake Forest, 4-3, this past Friday. They next play North Carolina on the road this Thursday. Saturday, the teams meet again.

The women's swimming & diving squad sent four student athletes to the NCAA Championships this past week in Atlanta, GA. Ella Moynihan competed in the 200 free; two divers - Lindsey Steepey and Emma Gaboury - competed in the 1-meter event; and Gaboury and Annie Crea competed in the 3-meter event. The team's best finish was 29th in the 3m dive from Gaboury. With that, the Irish finish their season.
The men's swimming & diving squad is currently idle, but heads to the NCAA Championships this Thursday through Sunday in Atlanta, GA.

Men's basketball (23-11, 11-7) earned two thrilling NCAA tournament victories this past week, first downing Michigan, 70-63, on Friday, then besting Stephen F. Austin, 76-75, on a last-second tip-in on Sunday night. You can find our review of the former here and of the latter here.
The Irish will face Wisconsin in their Sweet Sixteen match-up on Friday at 7:27 p.m. in Philadelphia, PA. This is the team's second consecutive trip to this level of the tournament.

No. 2 women's basketball (32-1, 19-0) earned two NCAA tournament game wins this past week. In the first round, the Irish dominated North Carolina A&T, 95-61. Our full game recap is here.
In the second round on Monday night, the Irish rolled Indiana at home, 87-70. Our game recap from that one is here.
Now they're on to the Sweet 16. The regional semifinals for the Irish are in Lexington, KY, this year on Friday night (7 or 9:30 p.m. ET). If ND advances to the regional finals, they'll play on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.

No. 13 Irish hockey (19-10-7, 15-5-2) was idle this past week as they await the start of the NCAA tournament regionals. To open regional play, Notre Dame will play Michigan in Cincinnati, OH, on Friday (5:30 p.m. ET, ESPNU). If they win, they'll compete in the regional final on Saturday evening (6:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2).

Men's golf was idle this past week. Next up for the Irish is the Clemson Invitational in Salem, SC, starting April 1st.
The no. 20 women's golf is in the midst of the LSU Tiger Classic in Baton Rouge, LA; the event runs through this Tuesday. We'll bring you results next week. The team next heads to Greensboro, NC, for the Bryan National Collegiate at the beginning of April.

Irish track & field was idle this past week after putting up a great show at the NCAA Indoor Championships. The outdoor season starts up this Friday at the Raleigh Relays in NC and the Yellow Jacket Invitational in GA.

The no. 1 Irish women and no. 2 men of the fencing team were idle this past week, awaiting the start of the NCAA Championships in Waltham, MA, this Thursday. ND has qualified the maximum of 12 fencers for the championships.
