Without further ado, we give you the results of the last week's Irish match-ups and look ahead at what's on the schedule this week.

No. 7 Irish hockey (18-7-7, 14-4-2), dropped their two road matches at no. 5 Providence, first falling in overtime on Friday, 3-2, then dropping the series closer on Saturday, 3-1. In Friday's game, ND built a 2-0 lead with goals from Dylan Malmquist and Jake Evans before Providence pulled even with 2 late third-period goals (the first, on a power play). A minute and a half into the resulting overtime period, the home team scored to take the game. Cal Petersen had 35 saves in net for the Irish. ND took 22 shots to Providence's 38 and went 0-for-2 on power plays; their opponent went 1-for-6.
Saturday, Providence opened scoring mid-way through the first period; they went up, 2-0, mid-way through the second. ND made it 2-1 with a goal later in the period from Steven Fogarty, but PC put it away with a final goal late in the final stanza. Petersen had 28 saves against 31 shots. ND had 35 shots and went 0-for-2 on power plays. Providence went 1-for-5 on them.
The Irish play host to Boston University this Friday (7:35 p.m. ET, NBCSN) and Saturday evening (7:05 p.m. ET, NBCSN).

No. 1 men's lacrosse (1-0) took down no. 13 Georgetown in Atlanta, GA, on Saturday, in a 12-7 victory. Sergio Perkovic led the team with 4 goals and Mikey Wynne had 3; Matt Kavanagh had 4 assists and a goal in the season opener. After putting up a 4-0 lead early, the Hoyas kept it interesting, pulling within 2 in the second period then staying within striking distance until late in the game.
ND next hosts Bellarmine on Wednesday evening ( p.m. ET). On Saturday, they welcome Detroit (2:00 p.m. ET).
No. 8 women's lacrosse (3-0, 1-0) earned a 14-4 home win over no. 9 Boston College on Sunday. After going up 4-2 late in the first half, the Irish netted 10 consecutive goals to put the Eagles away. Cortney Fortunato once again led the team with 5 goals. Samantha Giacolone had 13 saves in net for the Irish.
Next up for the Irish is Colorado at home on Friday evening (7:00 p.m. ET). The team hosts UC Berkeley this Sunday (12:00 p.m. ET).

Women's swimming & diving earned a 7th-place team finish at the ACC Championships this past week in Greensboro, NC. The University of Virginia came in 1st overall in the field of 13. ND took 7th place in the 200-yard medley relay and 8th in both the 200 and 800 yard freestyle relay.
The men's diving squad also had some success at ACC Championship events in Greensboro (including a 13th-place finish in the platform dive), earning points for the men's squad. They will compete for the ACC Championship on the swimming side this Wednesday through Saturday.

Softball (7-3) continued their season this past weekend in Cathedral City, CA, at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, where they went 4-1. The Irish bested Utah Valley, 11-4, and fell to Washington, 5-4, then beat Cal Poly, 6-3, no. 8/7 UCLA, 8-6, and George Washington, 12-0 in 5 innings.
The Irish now head to Kissimmee, FL, for another round of games in the Diamond 9 Citrus Classic this weekend. They'll play East Carolina and UCF on Friday, North Florida and Bryant University on Saturday, and Penn State on Sunday.

No. 24 baseball (1-2) is back at it. The Irish played Santa Clara on their home turf over the weekend. ND won their opener, 5-0, then dropped game two, 2-0, and the rubber match, 4-2, after Santa Clara got off to a strong offensive start.
The Irish head to San Antonio, TX, this Thursday to play Incarnate Word. Friday, they face Bradley; Saturday, it's Texas Southern. They finish up their road trip against Gonzaga on Sunday.

Irish track & field hosted the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday, and the home team took home top-3 finishes in the women's 60m, 3000m, DMR (a top-4 time on the All-College Indoor Track List), shot put, and weight throw, and in the men's 60mH, high jump, and weight throw (a school record).
The team competes in the ACC Indoor Championships in Boston, MA, beginning this Thursday.

No. 31 men's tennis (6-5) split their last week's matches, falling to no. 47 Kentucky, 4-0, but besting Western Michigan, 4-0, at home. On Sunday, they'll host Ohio State.
No. 32 women's tennis (7-3, 2-0) swept their 3 opponents of the last week, taking down no. 47 Purdue, 6-1, no. 59 Indiana, 6-1, and Louisville, 6-1. They face Boston College on the road on Friday. Sunday, they play Syracuse in New York.

No. 19/18 men's basketball (18-8, 9-5) fell in the closing minutes to Georgia Tech on the road on Saturday, 63-62. Our review of the game from alstein is here.
The Irish play Wake Forest on the road this Wednesday (9:00 p.m. ET, RSN). Saturday, they face Florida State in Tallahassee, FL (4:00 p.m. ET, ESPN2).

No. 2 women's basketball (26-1, 14-0) bested Wake Forest, 86-52, in Winston-Salem last Thursday. Brianna Turner led the Irish with 19 points and 11 rebounds, with 12 points coming in just the first quarter. Five players scored in double-digits for ND.
Monday night, ND took on no. 12 Florida State in Tallahassee, FL. The Irish came away with the 73-66 win. Turner led the team with 15 points and 6 rebounds, and was joined by 3 other players with double-digit scoring outings. The Irish seem to be getting their groove back beyond the arc, going 10-for-20 from the 3-point range after struggling with them for a few weeks.
Notre Dame next plays Clemson at home on Thursday (7:00 p.m. ET). Saturday, they host Boston College (1:00 p.m. ET).

Men's golf was idle this past week. The team travels to Tucson for the National Invitational Tournament this Sunday and Monday.
The women's golf team began spring competition this past Sunday and Monday at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, AZ. We'll bring you the results next week.
