Chris Finke’s First Career Touchdown

The former walk-on gets his first career touchdown to put the Irish up 17-0 on the Hokies.

Our first special moment of senior day 2016 came in the form of a touchdown pass to former walk-on wide receiver Chris Finke. Here’s how it looked:

This was the first play of the second quarter. Notre Dame dominated the first quarter statistically. Total yards were 173 to 4, rushing yards 70 to -10, passing yards 103 to 14, and time of possession 12:29 to 2:31, all in favor of the Irish. This seems to be the Notre Dame team we expected to see at the beginning of the year. It’s taken the firing of a defensive coordinator and some humiliating losses to get the team there, but everything is feeling pretty OK today.

With Chris Finke getting involved in the fun, the Irish offense seems to be firing on all cylinders for the first time this year. Despite Torii Hunter Jr. sitting out his second game in a row, DeShone Kizer has thrown for 134 yards on seven of eight passing, while also running for 28 yards.
