According to an Irish 247 report, Notre Dame 4 star cornerback commitment, Paulson Adebo, is still solid with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. There were some rumors just a short while ago that the Texas prospect may be interested in looking elsewhere, although nothing really surfaced as being credible.
Adebo is ranked as the 27th best cornerback in the 2017 class by the 247 composite rankings. Adebo holds offers from almost all of the big (and small) schools in Texas except for the Texas A&M Aggies. He also holds offers from all over the SEC including; Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Arkansas.
It wouldn’t be hard to understand if a defensive back got a little cold feet before attending Notre Dame right now. The Irish have struggled mightily over the first five games of the season. Notre Dame has had several season ending injuries (Shaun Crawford and Nick Watkins) and is very young up and down the depth chart.
Of course, this weakness right now could develop into a real strength for Notre Dame, and the willingness of the Fighting Irish to play a bunch of freshman this season, highlights the fact that has been the elephant in the room for Notre Dame recruiting... there is MUCH playing time to be had in the Irish secondary right now. Perhaps current players such as Donte Vaughn and Julian Love will lock down their spots for the next three years- or maybe not. The competition is certainly there, and it should be void of any “entitlement.”
Paulson Adebo will be on the Notre Dame campus for his official visit on October 15 when Notre Dame takes on the Stanford Cardinal in another prime time matchup. The Stanford game will be another big recruiting weekend for Notre Dame- much like the Michigan State game earlier in the year.
