Kizer to EQ: one play, one touchdown

The Irish score on their first play from scrimmage against Syracuse.

It only took one snap for DeShone Kizer to respond to his coach’s criticism of his play. In particular, coach Kelly wanted to see the Notre Dame QB be more patient in the pocket. Kizer was just that while finding Equanimeous St. Brown for a 79 yard touchdown.

The offense has been good this year for the Irish. Equanimeous St. Brown has been very good. DeShone Kizer has been great.

Notre Dame fans everywhere buckled up as the defense, recently liberated from the rule of former defensive coordinator Brian Van Gorder, takes the field. The first series did not go well, with Syracuse not meeting too much resistance in an 8-play, 75-yard touchdown drive. It might take about 80 points to win this one. The Irish offense needs to keep the momentum rolling and stay ahead of the Orange in this one if they want to return to South Bend with a win.
